Radio Seagull on air:
Karen Miller
|
 |
|
Karen's desire to work in radio began when she first heard the
late Roger Scott on Radio 1 in the late 80's. After completing
an HNC in Radio Broadcasting and volunteering for hospital
radio, Forth FM and Radio Scotland, she worked in London for
Satellite Media Services, sending out commercials to independent
stations, then in marketing at Classic FM.
Karen produced BBC Radio Scotland’s flagship country music
program, Brand New Country, for five years, traveling to
Nashville twice to gather interviews and attend the Americana
Music Awards. The highlight was finally arranging an interview
with the keeper of country music Marty Stuart.

The Miller Tells Her Tale began in 2001 on internet station
SpydaRadio. The show became a podcast in 2006. The aim of the
show is to introduce listeners to some of the amazing music
that’s being produced by independent artists, music that isn’t
given nearly enough airtime. Karen is always on the lookout
for new artists and has attended the last 9 SXSW festivals, made
numerous trips to Nashville and regularly attends gigs in
Scotland.
